This course is designed for first aid personnel who may be required to use this specific resuscitation equipment.

Length of Qualification	The certificate is valid for 12 months (1 Year)
Prerequisite	*Full Course*	Nil
Objectives	To provide participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to operate an AED.
Expected Outcomes	Successful participants will be able to identify the need for and successfully operate AED equipment during normal resuscitation procedures.
Who Should Attend	Anyone who has an AED in the workplace
Accreditation	Successful participants receive a Statement of Attainment for the following units of Competency: 30499Qld Course in Automatic External Defibrillation
Content	DRABCD and Resuscitation Definition of terms in automatic external defibrillation Safety when using an AED Preparation of the casualty prior to use of the AED Practical scenarios Maintenance of AED equipment
